The C.H.O.I.C.E.S. Apprenticeship program teaches students two tracts of the culinary profession for employment or entrepreneurism! We start with Kitchen Principles, Food Safety & Handling, catering management, and food cost budgeting. And as the landscape of healthy, nutritious food products expands to include Alternative Proteins – the “new” farm to table food source, our Apprentices learn about the culinary science behind these foods and how to prepare them in recipes that taste good!
We finish with providing our Apprentices with financial literacy education including basic accounting and small business operations skills to set them up for being successful entrepreneurs. After participating in our apprenticeship program for six months, a student will have gained the knowledge needed to eat healthier across their life-span, obtain employment within the foodservice industry or successfully start their own catering business.
